Our goal at Union-Solidarite-Entraide LA FRATERNITE-U.S.A is to enhance the lives of many Togo people. Every year, statistics report that the health situation in various cities in Togo has shown little to no progress. Children and adults alike in these poor communities suffer from insufficient resources that may result in unsolved health risks and lack of proper education, employment opportunities, and sometimes, human rights to live and be free from abuse.
Because of our desire to aid these people and encourage them to hope for a more successful and brighter future, our agency thus was formed. We have created programs that are centered on the improvement of their living and learning conditions. Additionally, we assist members of the association residing in the USA and the Togolese community in Togo.
Our Programs
Help communities get access to clean water by drilling wells.
The water supply in so many cities in Togo is close to inadequate. According to UNICEF, one of the major issues that Togo people face every day is their access, or lack thereof, to safe and clean water. This issue opens up so many health risks and safety concerns for the people who may need to travel far just to acquire clean water for their families.
We can address this situation by drilling wells and enough facilities and resources so these people won’t have to encounter problems in water consumption and sanitation.
Provide scholarships to “A” students.
Every child deserves the right to holistic education, but this may not be possible in some poor areas in Togo. We can help deserving individuals experience better learning conditions by giving out scholarships.
We don’t want to deprive so many children of this right – the right to learn and grow more as citizens in their cities and the country.
Educate rural population on the importance of girls schooling.
Abuse against women and children is fairly common among poorer districts in Togo and all over the world. These population groups are then discouraged from going to school and acquiring proper education.
We can break the stigma of misogyny and gender inequality by hosting seminars and small orientations designed to educate people on the importance of education amongst women. A better future for these individuals can be achieved with enough support and hope.
